cd reviews:

Luescher ... as if he's providing a quiet centre to the music, a cool, measured groove the bassist and drummer … They are an exceptional rhythm section: Studer's basslines constantly splinter off into two or three directions at once, and at unexpected moments he opts for shivery high arco playing; while Kaeppeli approaches timekeeping with extraordinary obliqueness … Subtle changes of dynamics and mood are crucial to their music ... "The Peacocks" makes an appearance at the end of the performance, a soft elegy materializing out of a cloud of tiny free-improv scribbles; it's a touching conclusion, in effect a delicate farewell to the late Urs Voerkel … a first-rate disc.
Nate Dorward, Cadence

… It's one of the few successful attempts I've heard this year at playing both out and in at the same time, and it's kind of epic and inspiring …
Matt Cibula, allaboutjazz
